On 20 April 2012, Philip D. Murphy, United States Ambassador to Germany, met the founder and co-owner of aluplast, Manfred J. Seitz, during a reception at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) in Karlsruhe/Germany.
Following the invitation issued by IHK Chairman Bernd Bechtold and Daniel Caspary, Member of the European Parliament, the US Ambassador discussed the prospects for the further development of economic relations between the Karlsruhe Technology Region and the United States of America.
Manfred J. Seitz attended the Harvard Business School in Boston (USA) in the course of his management studies before founding aluplast in 1982. In 2005, the company ventured into the Americas with the foundation of aluplastmex S.A. in Veracruz (Mexico).
From there, aluplast expands and enhances its distribution network on the American continent. The first steps into the USA have already been taken and the preparations for the market entry are in full swing. Philip D. Murphy, visibly impressed by the company founder’s drive and entrepreneurial fighting spirit, emphasized the importance of the economic cooperation between Germany and the United States.
“The United States is one of Germany’s most important export countries and the centrepiece and the motor of a functioning economic system. It is therefore all the more important to be present on the US market in future,” Mr. Manfred J. Seitz stated.
