Embracing the Philippines High-End Market

Europa Design and aluplast: Innovating the Philippines Window Market with German Precision

Europa Design is a pivotal player in the Philippines architectural landscape, offering high-performance uPVC doors and windows that marry aesthetics with durability. At the helm of this innovative company is director CJ Dekeling, who optimizes the unique challenges and opportunities of the Philippine market.

Embracing the High-End Market

"In the Philippines, window and door choices are not so much about insulation," says Dekeling. "They are more about aesthetics and needing to last."

Recognising this, in 2010, Europa Design decided to focus exclusively on high-end architectural homes and resorts. "However, well-off people still want value for money and quality."

The Philippines market presents unique challenges: minimal building regulations, extreme environmental conditions including frequent typhoons and high temperatures and humidity, and a clientele prioritising aesthetics over energy efficiency.

"We push the limits on what a profile can do," Dekeling notes. "We have no choice but to be innovative."

Choosing aluplast: A Strategic Partnership

To meet these challenges, Europa Design sought a supplier matching its commitment to quality and innovation. "When we took over the company, they were buying from a non-European product ," recalls Dekeling. "We realised that it wouldn't work. By 2010, we wanted to go 100 per cent German."

Their quest led them to aluplast, a German company renowned for its advanced uPVC window and door systems.

"We liked aluplast's designs and technology, and they didn't have any exclusivity arrangements in the Philippines," says Dekeling. The partnership offered Europa Design the exclusivity and high-quality profiles they needed. "Working with aluplast products has grown our business."

Innovation at the Forefront

Europa Design are often called upon to meet new challenges and push the boundaries of possibility. "We can do anything; there is no 'no' in my vocabulary," says Dekeling. "We push the limits on what a profile can do. We have competitors in the market, and architects are demanding. Architects can design whatever they want. We discover what is possible."

Europa Design relies on its team's experimentation and creativity to develop unique products. "We don't have research facilities, but we have a lot of very skilled and creative people in our team," he explains. "We use trial and error to discover what we can make." This innovative spirit has led to architectural windows and doors that also withstand the severity of the Philippines' notorious typhoons. "Customers choose our products because of the quality of the systems we manufacture, and we install them correctly," Dekeling notes.

Building Trust Through Quality and Service

In the Philippines, reputation is everything. "Our market is about loyalty and word-of-mouth," Dekeling explains. "When your friend tells you to go with Europa Design, you usually do. So, we need to get things right." That means providing not just quality products but also exceptional service. "I make sure that my staff and company give the service people need. If there's something wrong, we resolve it quickly. People trust us."

Looking Ahead

With their partnership with aluplast, Europa Design is poised to continue shaping the future of fenestration design and manufacture in the Philippines. Their commitment to innovation, quality, and strong relationships sets them apart in a competitive market. "You make it happen," says Dekeling. "I'm a yes man."

By embracing the challenges of the Philippine market and turning them into opportunities for innovation, Europa Design and aluplast demonstrate how strategic partnerships and shared values can drive success. Their collaboration is not just about supplying windows and doors; it's about crafting solutions that meet the unique needs of their clients while pushing the industry forward.
